According to sources from the Interior Ministry, the orders for military and Rangers' deployment have been conveyed to the relevant authorities. The deployment comes following requests from the Election Commission and the Punjab government, aiming to assure a peaceful electoral process.

The military and Rangers will provide general security assistance to the Election Commission. Rangers have been assigned to the second tier, while the military will be positioned in the third-tier Quick Reaction Force mode.

Legal Basis for Deployment

The federal government has authorized the military's deployment under Article 220 and Article 245 of the Constitution. Meanwhile, the Rangers' deployment has been executed in accordance with the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997.
