In a significant counter-terrorism effort, Pakistani security forces have neutralised at least 15 terrorists, including a prominent ringleader linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij, during two intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operations, conducted between November 8 and 9, were aimed at dismantling terrorist networks supported by India, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Indian proxy terrorists: Details of the Operations

The ISPR reported that one operation targeted the identified presence of khawarij in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district, leading to the elimination of 10 terrorists, among them the key figure Alam Mehsud. In a subsequent operation in Datta Khel, North Waziristan district, five additional terrorists were successfully neutralised.

The military media wing emphasised the ongoing sanitisation efforts to eradicate any remaining Indian-sponsored khawarij in the region. "A relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision 'Azm e Istehkam', as approved by the federal apex committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eliminate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism in our country," the ISPR stated.

Incident in Bannu

In a separate incident, a suicide bomber was killed following an explosion near a police station in Bannu. Authorities confirmed that no other casualties were reported from the blast, which occurred at the Do Ghora Bridge, close to the Basia Khel police station. A motorcyclist had detonated himself at the location. Security forces promptly arrived on the scene, cordoning off the area for investigation. A motorcycle and the body of the attacker were recovered.

This incident follows a recent suicide blast at Islamabad's Judicial Complex on November 11, which resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals and left at least 36 wounded, including lawyers and petitioners. Recently, the federal government apprehended four members of a cell associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan/Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP/FAK) that was linked to the prior suicide attack at the Islamabad District Judicial Complex in G-11.
