Dubai International Airport: Continued Growth in Travel Demand
Pakistan has solidified its status as a crucial partner for the UAE in terms of both tourism and labor mobility, with a stable demand for travel throughout the year. Dubai International Airport experienced the highest quarterly traffic in its 65-year history, welcoming 24.2 million passengers from July to September, reflecting a 1.9% increase year-on-year. From January to September 2025, total passenger traffic reached 70.1 million, marking a 2.1% rise compared to the previous year. By the end of September, the airport's 12-month rolling traffic reached an unprecedented 93.8 million passengers.
Comparison with Other Markets
In terms of international passenger traffic, India retained its position as the largest source market with 8.8 million passengers, followed by Saudi Arabia with 5.5 million and the United Kingdom with 4.6 million. Pakistan ranked fourth, ahead of the United States, demonstrating the growing importance of this market for Dubai.
Efficient Operational Performance
Dubai Airports reported strong operational performance, with nearly all passengers completing border and security checks within minutes. Impressively, 99.6% of departing passengers cleared passport control in under 10 minutes, while 99.8% of arriving passengers experienced wait times of less than 15 minutes. Aircraft movements also remained robust, totaling 115,000 flights in the third quarter and 336,000 flights over the first nine months of the year.
Facility Upgrades to Meet Rising Demand
In response to the increase in passenger volume, Dubai is undertaking upgrades to facilities at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, specifically to accommodate the rising demand from South Asian travelers, who are a key demographic within Dubai's visitor base.
