The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a strong condemnation of the recent terrorist attack on the Joint Check Post at Aman Mela in Dera Ismail Khan. This violent incident resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several personnel from Pakistan Customs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, and the KP Excise and Taxation Department while they were fulfilling their official duties.

Details of the Attack

On September 26, the FBR confirmed that two Pakistan Customs personnel, Havaldar Farman Ullah and Sepoy Usama, lost their lives in the attack. Additionally, Inspector Kashif and Sepoys Afaq Adil, Mehboob, and Affan are currently receiving medical treatment. The FBR highlighted that the attackers also opened fire on an ambulance transporting the injured, a reprehensible act that underscores the brutality of the assault.

Support for Victims' Families

In light of this tragedy, the FBR extended its deepest condolences to the families of the fallen Customs personnel. The Member Customs has instructed both the Chief Collector of Customs (Enforcement) and the Collector of Customs (Enforcement), Peshawar, to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved families. The organization is committed to supporting these families in matters concerning assistance, entitlements, and care.

Solidarity with Law Enforcement Agencies

Moreover, the FBR expressed sympathy to the KP Police and the Excise and Taxation Department for their losses, affirming that its officers had served alongside these agencies at the check post and share in their grief. The Board paid tribute to personnel who operate in high-risk areas, including Customs officers stationed at various border crossings and challenging locations throughout the region.

Commitment to Duty

The Federal Board of Revenue emphasized that this attack would not diminish its resolve or hinder its personnel from fulfilling their responsibilities. "Our posts will remain manned. Our checks will continue. Our officers will return to their positions, as they always have," the Board asserted.

The FBR acknowledged that the sacrifice of Havaldar Farman Ullah and Sepoy Usama has created a duty that the institution will honor by continuing their work courageously. The FBR prayed for the martyrs to attain the highest ranks in Jannah, for the families to find patience and strength, and for a swift recovery for the injured.
