The initiative aims to enhance tourism infrastructure and create more employment opportunities, thereby promoting socio-economic advancement for local communities and youth engaged in the sector.

Commitment to Tourism Development

In a message commemorating World Tourism Day on September 27, Sharif stated, "The government is committed to showcasing Pakistan to the world as a safe, attractive, and competitive tourism destination." He emphasized the importance of the tourism industry and its contributors, adding, "I pay tribute to the spirit of exploration, curiosity, and discovery shared by tourists and all those associated with the tourism sector in Pakistan and around the world."

Rich Cultural and Natural Heritage

According to the Prime Minister, tourism flourishes due to the allure of Pakistan's breathtaking natural landscapes, historic monuments, and rich cultural heritage. He noted, "By the grace of Allah Almighty, Pakistan is endowed with extraordinary natural beauty, a rich cultural and civilizational heritage, and an abundance of historical and religious sites, offering immense opportunities for the promotion and development of tourism."

Sharif highlighted that Pakistan's moderate climate and stunning mountainous terrain have significant potential to attract global tourists. The country, home to ancient civilizations such as the Indus Valley and Gandhara, also boasts a wealth of cultural history. Furthermore, he pointed out that Pakistan has numerous historically significant religious sites that are of great importance to followers of Sikhism, Buddhism, and other faiths.

Benefits of Tourism Promotion

The Prime Minister remarked that promoting tourism is crucial for economic growth and fostering stronger international relationships. Additionally, he mentioned, "Promoting tourism and recreation also reflects a commitment to healthy minds, positive pursuits, and a balanced way of life."
