In a significant development for aspiring pilgrims, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced a three-day extension for the submission of dues for Hajj 2026. This extension provides a crucial final opportunity for applicants to ensure their participation in one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.
Hajj 2026 dues: Deadline Extension Details
Spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt emphasized that applicants must submit their second installment of dues by Wednesday, warning that failure to do so would result in the cancellation of their Hajj application. This announcement aims to alleviate concerns from those applying for Hajj 2026, encouraging timely compliance.
Quota and Financial Details
Earlier this year, in June, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf, the Minister for Religious Affairs, outlined the Hajj Policy for 2026. The total quota of pilgrims from Pakistan is set at 179,210, with 119,210 allocated under the government's regular scheme. The quota for private schemes has been significantly reduced to 60,000, reflecting a shift towards the government scheme, which now accounts for 66.52% of the total allocations, compared to 33.48% for private ones.
The anticipated expenses for the Hajj journey under the government scheme will range between Rs1,150,000 and Rs1,250,000. An initial installment of Rs500,000 will be collected in the first week of August, setting a financial framework for applicants as they prepare for the pilgrimage.
Health Restrictions for Pilgrims
In addition to the financial obligations, the Saudi government has implemented strict health regulations for pilgrims with pre-existing medical conditions. A new policy mandates the deportation of seriously ill pilgrims, with the responsibility for their return travel costs falling on themselves. This measure highlights the importance of ensuring that all participants are fit to undertake the demanding rituals of Hajj.
As the Hajj season approaches, the ministry's decisions are critical in facilitating the pilgrimage experience and ensuring that all participants are adequately prepared and informed.
